Here is this week's activities schedule.

WELCOME,

Here are the daily activity sheets and some lost wallet information.  If you need examples of the type of activities we do here, just scroll down and you will see.  I will update with new schedules twice a week.  For special requests please call 570-722-9111  ext 500 and leave your name, the week and the days you will be here, and a way I can get back with you.  Please note that I need a minimum of ten days in order to fulfill a request.  At Split Rock we take great pride in providing a wide variety of activities for all ages. We encourage all our guests to take advantage of the daily activity program which specializes in fun, health and wellness, educational, arts and crafts and sports.  If you have your own ping pong paddle, bring it.  Same with your baseball glove (summer) The best part about it is that 90% of this program is free.  I look forward to meeting everyone.  Thanks to Elizabeth Maxsey for finding racing turtle Magnificent Maddie.  Go Yankees.

DOC’S LOST WALLET GAME #3:  Doc lost his wallet one month ago.  It is somewhere on Split Rock grounds.  It is not in any building.  It is not in grass, water, sand or dirt.  It is black, vertical and flush to whatever it's wedged in.  You can't see the sides, top, bottom or back of it.  All you can see is the thin black line of the wallet.  Most importantly the wallet is not hidden in a dangerous spot.  The prize is worth $1,800.  Please don't rearrange the landscaping while looking for it.  Remember no one clue points to the exact spot and all clues point to the vicinity of the wallet.  It only contains Doc's business card. Good hunting and Godspeed.

  DAILY ACTIVITIES FOR MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2009

10:00am  DOC’S VACATION OWNERS WELCOME ORIENTATION.  Meet Doc and your fellow guests at the movie theatre for an informative orientation designed to make you more familiar with the resort and  the surrounding area. Enjoy homemade crumb cake, coffee, tea and juice.   This is not a sales presentation.

12:00pm DOC HOLIDAY’S H2OOOOOOOOOOH VACATION OWNER MONDAY.  All vacation owners and exchanges meet Doc outside the main lobby of the indoor water park at this time.  You get four all day passes for only $99.  Have proof of  vacation ownership available.  Your whole family must be present at the time you buy your tickets.  Doc will party in the park with you for a while.  Once you have your band you can come and go as you please.  If you come past 12:00pm just mention Doc’s name.  The park closes at 8:00pm.

 

12:00pm MARANDA’S PIT LOUNGE CONTEMPORARY MUSIC HOUR.  Meet Maranda in the Pit Lounge for an hour of inspirational music.  You are welcome to bring your own instruments.  Maranda will have her guitar

  1:00pm A FREE MOUNTAIN MASSAGE DEMO.  All our guests are invited to a free massage demonstration put on by the friendly staff of Mountain Massage.  Stop by to find out what Mountain Massage can do for you.

1:00pm MARANDA’S ADULT GREAT POCONO BIBLE TRIVIA CONTEST.   Meet Maranda in the Pit Lounge.

2:00pm MARANDA’S SUDOKU CHALLENGE.   Meet Maranda in the Pit Lounge.

2:00pm DOC’S “LEARN TEXAS HOLD’EM”.   Meet Doc in the Galleria Nightclub at this time.  He will teach you table etiquette, strategies and the basics of this very popular card game.

3:00pm MARANDA’S HIKE TO THE FAMOUS SPLIT ROCK.  Get on your hiking shoes and meet Maranda in the Galleria main lobby.  She will lead you to the massive rock formation that gave this resort its name.

4:00pm DANNY’S ADULT 8-BALL TOURNAMENT. Adult’s sign-up and meet Danny at the fitness desk.

4:00pm DOC’S ADULT GREAT POCONO TABLE TENNIS CHALLENGE.   Sign up at the fitness desk to play Doc.  Beat him and win a prize. This challenge is limited to the first six sign-ups.

5:00pm PIT BAR HAPPY HOUR.  Please join us in the Pit Bar for half price drinks from 5pm until 6pm.

5:00pm BENCH WARMERS SPORTS BAR OPENS AT THIS TIME..  Bench Warmers is the perfect place for Monday night football, the pennant races and all your sports needs.

5:30pm TAMMY’S KICKBOXING CLASS.  Meet Tammy in the Aerobics Room which located on the second floor of the Galleria Sports Complex. This healthy heart exercise is free for guests and $3 for all others.  You must be at least 16 years old.

        9:30am HAROLD’S CAR CARAVAN TO HAWK FALLS.  Meet Harold in the Galleria main lobby with your car ready to roll.  They will lead you to beautiful Hawk Falls at Hickory Run State Park.   It’s an easy eighth of a mile walk to the falls.  Please wear proper shoes.

 

       10:15am DANNY’S FREE MOVIE .  Watch  “Fireproof” for free on the movie theatre screen

       12:00pm HAROLD’S CHECKERS TOURNAMENT.   Meet Harold at the activities desk.

 

       12:00pm THE GREAT POCONO CHARITY PUMPKIN ROLL.  Go to the Landscape building at the base of the ski hill to purchase and register your pumpkin.  A portion of the proceeds will go to the Carbon County Chapter of the United Way,  Orphans Promise and the Split Rock Scholarship Fund for a gifted student from Weatherly High School.  You get to roll your pumpkin down our ski hill.  The pumpkin that rolls the longest will win a $100 Family Fun Pack of prizes.  Doc, Joy and Danny will host.

      12:15pm JOY’S HEALTHY HART FALL WALK.  Meet Joy in the Galleria main lobby at this time.  She will lead you on a wonderful walk by beautiful Lake Harmony which is located just a half a mile away.  The Split Rock grounds are extra pretty at this time of the year so you may want to bring a camera.

10:00amHAROLD’S FOOD- ART-DRINK CAR CARAVAN TO FLOW IN HISTORIC JIM THORPE.  Meet Harold in the Galleria main lobby with your car ready to roll.  He will lead you to Historic Jim Thorpe for a fun filled afternoon combining great food and amazing art at FLOW and the Carbon County Cultural Project.  We will be given a personal tour through the gallery complex and then enjoy a tasty lunch next door at one of Jim Thorpe’s top culinary spots.  After lunch Michael and Harold will walk around the “7th most quaint town in the United States.”  Printed directions will be handed out so you can return at any time you desire.

  9:30pm DOC & JOY’S FAMILY KARAOKE “GONG SHOW”.   Meet Doc and Joy in the Galleria Nightclub to register at this time.  Doc will be your master of ceremonies for Split Rock’s own version of the famous game show.  Don’t be shy, this is your chance to be a star.  So come and hangout with Joy, Doc and your fellow guests, have fun and if you don’t sing you can vote for the winner.  You might want to get there early for a good seat. 

 

10:15pm DOC DRAWS THE BIG TICKET FOR THE FREE VACATION AT KARAOKE IN THE PIT LOUNGE. Each time you order a drink at the Pit Bar you will be given a ticket.  That’s right, one ticket for every and any drink paid for. The big drawing will take place in the Galleria Pit Lounge tonight at 10:15pm.  You may enter as many times as you wish.  You must be present to win.  Remember to drink responsibly and good luck.

11:30am THE GREAT POCONO CHARITY PUMPKIN ROLL.  Go to the Landscape building at the base of the ski hill to purchase and register your pumpkin.  A portion of the proceeds will go to the Carbon County Chapter of the United Way,  Orphans Promise and the Split Rock Scholarship Fund for a gifted student from Weatherly High School.  You get to roll your pumpkin down our ski hill.  The pumpkin that rolls the longest will win a $100 Family Fun Pack of prizes.  Doc and Maranda will host.  Purchase and registration will be from 11:30am until 12:00pm.  The roll begins at noon.

Enjoy homemade crumb cake, coffee, tea and juice.   This is not a sales presentation.

 

12:00pm DOC HOLIDAY’S H2OOOOOOOOOOH VACATION OWNER MONDAY.  All vacation owners and exchanges meet Maranda outside the main lobby of the indoor water park at this time.  You get four all day passes for only $99.  Have proof of  vacation ownership available.  Your whole family must be present at the time you buy your tickets.  Once you have your band you can come and go as you please.  If you come past 12:00pm just mention Doc’s name.  The park closes at 8:00pm.
