Thank you for your comments. I am glad you and your family enjoyed your time at Split Rock.
The ticking sound in 2520 is no longer there and it did not afffect other units.
I am sorry you had a poor dining experience in Bel’lago and Sunset Green. We are not perfect and problems happen form time to time. However, both outlets have over a 90% guest satisfaction rate as indicated by comments card surveys. I talked to the mamagers of both dining rooms and they have assured me situations like the one you experienced will not happen again. They also asked me to extend their personal apology to you and your family.
The indoor pool mildew smell comes from the carpeted end of the room next to the water park. Due to heavy traffic in that area, the carpet became very wet causing the odor. We have extracted the carpet and treated it removing the odor. The water in the pool is clear and appears green because of the diamond brite surface application to the sides and bottom of the pool.
We will increase shuttle bus runs on weekends next season as this appears to be the heavy traffic time.
We have tried bell service in the past and most guests ignored it and used the luggage carts to move their own baggage in and out. We may attempt to start it up again in the future.
We maintain our guest room units with room rotators who go room to room in a never ending cycle. They get to each unit about once a month and follow a punch list of items to check and maintain. Due to high occupancy levels in the summer this process slows down due to a lack of rooms available.

I am thinking of booking Westwood at Split Rock in early November through II for a 2 bedroom unit in the Villas. It will be my first time at your resort. I was wondering since I am booking through II, are the above-mentioned sales tax including in my pricing or is it additional?
Also, any personal comments about Westwood would be much appreciated

If you are exchanging a week through II there will be no tax involved. However, If you are purchasing a week or weekend from II the sales tax may apply.
I will look into this and try to get an answer for you.

We are owners of three units at Willowbrook. We are scheduled to come the week starting October 31st. We will be bringing our 3 grandsons to enjoy the waterpark. I have several questions:
1) I saw in one place that the cutoff for children for the waterpark is 42″ and on the adventure card .pdf is says under 12 years. My grandsons are 5,7 & 8 and the oldest (and maybe even the oldest two) are now over 42″ tall. Will this be a problem qualifying them as children. Should I bring their birth certificates?
2) Are they any dates during that week that the water park will be closed?
3) I read that there are special discounts for the waterpark for owners beyond the Adventure Pass discount? Is that true and if so, what are they?

The cut off for children is 42 inches. The information on the Adventure Card is not correct.
The Water Park will be open 10 AM to 10 PM Saturday, 12 Noon to 8 PM Sunday, Monday and Friday.
Special promotions are run from time to time for owners but there is no set schedule and I am unable to advise you on this.

I am upset beyond belief right now!! I just found out that the referral program will no longer having my guests stay at Willowbrook Resort! When I bought at Split Rock that is what I was told that I would get. Now they have changed that and said that my guest can stay at Mt Laurel!! This is unreal and unfair. I would like to know who I can reach about this! I’ve actually had people buy from this referral program ,,I’ve always said such good things about the resort and now this just gives me a different outlook on things!!
Please let me know who I can speak to! thank you..I do not want to speak to anyone in the referral program. I would like to know who and why was this changed!!

Stayed as an exchange in two bdrm unit in the Galleria in August with son and grandchildren. Everyone was so friendly and there was so much to do we were all sad to see the week go so fast. Enjoyed the waterpark and the discounted price for owners. Ate at every restaurant, ice cream shop and was happy with all. We all enjoyed the lagoon the best with the activities, entertainment, tiki bar, swimming and fishing. Doc and his turtle races were the bomb – we even tried to retrieve some of the turtles that had escaped from the tub in the little lake but to no avail but was fun trying. We did it all and enjoyed all. We did an exchange last year also to Galleria and this year was even better, hope to return next year cause we havent found a place yet for family with children to have so much to do in one place and whats nice is you dont have to travel anywhere, just enjoy. My family and I spent a weekend in August @ Split Rock. I had contacted you prior to our trip to discuss the fact that my daughter and I have food allergies. I wanted to let you know that we had a great experience and everything went very well. The accomodations @ The Willowbrook Condos where perfect – especially the fact that each unit has its own kitchen. The rooms where very wll maintained and the kitchen had everything we could need for a weekend getaway. The hostess @ The Galleria Restaurant was well aware of our allergy situation when we checked in at the restaurant – which was very nice and comforting. The chef that works for breakfast @ The Galleria Restaurant went above and beyond for us, which made us feel very comfortable.
We are glad that we now have a place that we can spend some family time 2hrs from home and not have to worry about our food allergies.
We would like to come up again the last week of September with my brothers family and my sisters family. My neice also has food allergies and we would like to have them check out this resort. My neice also loves to go swimming and we think she would just love the indoor waterpark – she is 4 year old.
The hold up on booking the trip all depends on 1 thing – Will Bench Warmers Sports Bar be showing the Chicago Bears game on Sunday September 27th @ 4:00. If the game is going to be on then we will be booking another trip along with my sister’s family and my brothers family. How do I find out if the game will be on 100%? My husband can’t miss a game and has not missed a game since he was about 15 years old. He will only go if he can see his game and if we dont go my sister and brothers family is not going to go without us.

Hi, last year we attended the Beer fest at Split Rock and my friends and I had a great time. The one problem we had was the large crowd, and lack of crowd control at the opening of the event. We stood outside in freezing cold temps for up to 1 hour. Will this be improved this year?

I’m new to blogging but felt compelled to respond to some of the negative reviews that I’ve been reading. I am a Marriott timeshare owner so I’m very familiar with quality timeshare accomodations. I will be returning on Oct 31st for my 3rd visit to Split Rock. I stayed once in the Galleria and once in Westwood; we were hoping to stay in Willowbrook on this visit, but due to time constraints that I have had to work with in II, I was not able to get a unit (the 2BR Willowbrook units go very fast). I booked in Westwood again as we preferred it to the Galleria, but even our experience in the Galleria was positive.
However, the reviews that have really bothered me are the ones that complain of not enough to do or of activities costing too much-I wonder what resort they’re staying at. They obviously did not take advantage of Doc’s orientation full of loads of information (and delicious coffee cake). The activities program has something for everybody (we love the trivia), most of it is free, and the staff is great(esp Michael and Leona). The amenities that do cost-eg minigolf and bowling–are not priced unreasonably.
A few questions prior to our visit–have the Westwood renovations been completed and if not can we be sure of getting one of the renovated units again? Have the repairs of the jacuzzi room at the fitness center been completed? And will the the mini golf and Sunset Green restaurants be open for our visit ? We’re hoping for good weather-when we were there last year the last week of October there was that freak snow storm – we’re hoping to get out walking the grounds and find that darn wallet.

We are looking foward to our 11th trip to Split Rock October 10th! We checked out the Doc’s recreation page and we are so excited because of all the great Fall activities he has been doing in October. I can’t wait to roll a pumpking down the ski hill!. This will be our first time staying in the Galleria We usually stay in Westwood or Willowbrook and they have both been beautiful places to stay, so this will also be a new treat for us.

I contacted you in August with concerns I’ve read before my visit. But I must say..I don’t know which resort the others stayed but the Willbrooks was nothing less than TOP NOTCH!!. The workers were very pleasant and yes very helpful as well. You had offered me unlimited passes; however, after seeing the room, my significant other and I had no use for them.
We enjoyed the resort on our own without the extras. We are actually plannng a family vaction with Split Rock in 2010. Not to mention, we were able to enjoy a beautiful day at Bushkill Falls which is not to far away.
As for the toll road..you only have to pay each time you enter. But then again, the resort has sooo many things there really isn’t a reason to leave the grounds to often.
We want to thank you for your anticipated assistance and thank the staff as well. Everyone were just sooo pleasant.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! We look forward to seeing all of your next year!!! And again we thank you.

I am interested in attending the beer festival in November, but the current brewery list is confusing me.
First, the list is actually a beer list, not a brewery list. As an example, you have “Maudite” from Canada listed. That is a beer brewed by Unibroue from Canada. You also have another of their beers on the list (Ephmere).
Also, I do not see a single US brewery. When I looked about a month ago, there were about 20 or 30 US breweries. Did they all cancel?

This will be our 1st time visiting your resort and we just booked our timeshare week for 15 Nov – 22 Nov 2009. According to our confirmation, we will be staying in unit 1043 in the Westwood. Some of the reviews of the cleanliness of the units have me concerned as I have three babies (4, 2 1/2 & 15 months) that will be waddling around. Can you please let me know if 1043 is an updated/renovated unit? And is it close to the main building for ease of walking back and forth with waterpark-soaked kids? If I need to change units for a closer unit and/or updated interior, who should I speak to? Thanks in advance for your help!

I sent a letter a few weeks ago regarding this and have not heard back.
I have been looking for a fax number because I have some questions regarding the maintenance fee I was recently assessed when I came across your blog. When I bought into Willowbrook, I was given a form (which I signed) saying I had a biennial contract. It means I can use my timeshare every other year and the usuage fee will be paid in the even year. Owner pays maintenance fees the year of usage only.
Since this is an odd year, why am I being billed?

My son and I will be coming to the Galleria from Oct 30th thru Nov 6th.. I have 2 questions that I can not find answers to on the website, could you please help me find the answers..
1. As I stated we will be arriving Oct 30th. I was wondering if there was any types of activities scheduled for the children ( I have a 10 year old boy) on Halloween Oct 31st. If so where do I find out about these. This is my first time using the resort , we have been owners for several years and only usually come up for the day.
2. I am also wondering if there is any Wi-Fi areas throughout the Galleria. I would love to bring my laptop but dont not currently have WiFi service with my cellular company. Are the room equipped with internet access? I will look into purchasing the service before coming up there if there isnt any.

Hi,
I am booked at your Willowbrook and Westwood facilities beginning thanksgiving day – 11/26 and ending 12/4 for my husbands surprise 60th birthday celebration. I was unable to get either unit for my entire stay and I have a few concerns.
1st is I am concerned what we will do when we have to check out of willowbrook when the new unit will not be ready at Westwood. Also I have heard fabulous things about Willowbrook and less favorable about Westwood if you are not in a renovated unit. We are Marriott owners and are very used to very nice, updated units. Is there any way that you could leave us in the Willowbrook facility for the entire stay?? We will be checking out completely on the 29th (Sunday) since we all have to return to work monday morning. I also wanted to know if there are any thanksgiving dinners that you know about in local restaurants.
I have attached my confirmation information and if you were able to do this it would be greatly appreciated. I really want to make this birthday very special for my husband. He has had a rough time of late and this should do a lot to lift his spirits.

I am new to blogging and was encouraged to find this forum. My wife and I (Account#609920) have been Willowbrook owners for just under a year after relocating from Boston, Massachusetts. We have been cautious given some of the concerns reported e.g. mildew smell at pool, some equipment/aesthetic issues here and there etc. but have found both staff and management responsive to any problems.
We had our first guest referral weekend in September at Willowbrook Resort. The experience was tremendous; I’m happy to say my cousin needed no convincing and decided to become an owner that same weekend!
When we purchased with Split Rock we were told that Willlowbrook would be our referral site.
After giving rave reviews to friends and acquaintances we booked a 2nd guest Referral weekend for October 30th. We were dismayed when curtly informed the referral program would no longer have our guests stay at Willowbrook Resort, but instead at Mountain Laurel, almost 3 miles away.
After seeing the Mt. Laurel website I am, at best, embarrassed.
Away from the heart Split Rock Resort our guests have no experience of the benefits, value and good sense of Willowbrook ownership. Instead, September may be our first and only successful referral.
Although a loyal owner I am cautious at the prospects ahead of us today and hope our friendship with our guests survive this weekend. My credibility will not be as fortunate.

I was looking on Split Rock resort to book 2 rooms for my sister & mine family. First could not find any events going on January 2010.
After looking up review on internet i am scared. There are a lot of complains about rooms being dirty and run down. matrecces having stains
and pool is not so clean. Is it true?

Our activities are posted weekly because they change every week. If you check our web site you will get a general idea of the activities offered.
Our rooms are very carefully cleaned with each check out and I think you will find them way above average. We have some units that are older and we have many more that are new. If you reserve with us, please forward your confirmation number to my attention at sam.arnett@splitrockresort and I will see that your accommodations will be acceptable to you.
The swimming pools are so clear that you can see the drain covers on the bottom at the deep end. They are checked daily and we log all tests taken.
If you are looking for a very good three star resort with more amenities and activities than other properties, Split Rock is a good choice.

Hickory Run State Park is a short distance from the resort and provides many excellent hiking trails. When you arrive at Split Rock please ask for Doc Holiday, our Social Director, and he will fill you in on all the hiking trails in the area. Doc usually leads two or three hikes for guests each week.

Hi Sam,
Just a a note to let you know our October week at SplitRock was blast we had a great time (as always). The Great Pumpkin Roll down the ski hill was so much fun! Watching 27 pumpkins speeding down the slope was the funniest things I have ever seen! I hope it becomes a Split Rock tradition! We had fun bowling and doing all the activites. Our room at the Galleria was spotless! It was the first time we stayed there and we were very pleased! We have stayed at Willowbrook, Westwood and now the Galleria and we have had great experiences in all of them. The staff at all the buildings are always friendly and if you need something… they make sure you get it.Year after year it just gets better and better! We decided to come up there tomorrow and stay a few days since I have off for the teacher’s convention…why go to AC when we can go to SPLITROCK!!!!

How much money do u think that it would be for 11 people at split rock resort when they have a time share because me and my family r going and wanted to know how much money to bring

Is there a typo with the Beer Fest prices? For Saturday it is $33 for advanced tickets, but $45 for day of festival tickets. For Sunday it is $33 for advanced tickets, but $35 for day of festival tickets. I thought it might be a typo since there is a $10 difference between Saturday and Sunday.

I believe Sunday is less than Saturday due to the larger number of people attending on Saturday.
