Beers with unusual flavors and ingredients will be sampled and discussed, along with a sampling and discussion of the fundamental taste components in beer. George will also brew a beginner batch of beer, using his methods from his new book, ‘The Complete Homebrew Beer Book’.About the speaker: In May of 2008, George received the Governor’s Inspiration Award for promoting craft beer and brewing in the state of Pennsylvania and for his work in setting up the hugely successful Philly Beer Week. George is a member of an old Philadelphia brewing family. His grandfather was brewmaster for Philadelphia Brewing Co. and his great grandfather was a brewer in Stuttgart, Germany.
