Just got home today from staying two evenings at split rock with a friend and our children ages 6 and 15. We stayed in building six slope suites. I can’t tell you enough how excited I am to have found this place close enough to home to visit for the “I need a break” getaway. The resort was easy to find.
We checked in with possibly the friendliest person I every met (Tammy) who answered every question I had which there were many :} It was a rainy weekend so I figured we would be bored, not a chance, something to do every minute we were there. I met wonderful ladies, Jennifer our waitress, and Eileen at the Galleria. I can’t help but rave about the friendliness of this staff. I felt like I was with extended family! We ate the 2nd day at the pizza place in the main building, we had wings, calzones and subs and salad…all great. Then on to the gym, recreation center where Caitlyn who works by the bowling area and Kim really stood out – Kim works with the day camp program for kids, Caitlyn was also playing with the kids – how amazing these two were with my daughter (thank you). Then of course on the arcade, where Adam, Scott and Danny worked and again were super friendly people who didn’t seem to mind us making them wait forever while kids picked out there amazing bounty of prizes they won. Not a typical resort rip off arcade, you will leave with more then plastic bracelets! Then my son played in the teen texas hold em game where he won a free hour in the indoor tennis courts. (Outside courts are free). After swimming in the nice indoor pool, where the jacuzzi hot tub was wonderful, we then played family bingo and then my daughter was first to sing at karaoke night…kids went, then later at night adults...too much fun. We also had bowling with amazing music and lights, and were too exhausted to get to the movie theatre!!! I am not touching on everything they have to offer, but after reading many reviews that were not good here, I wanted to let you know that we had a blast. Our site was not glamorous like a five star resort, but it was comfy, large and had everything we needed. If you want a family friendly place to relax that will keep everyone amused, at a reasonable price, this is where you go. I will be back again and again.
